Congratulations to Cavendish House on being victorious against Meldrum House in the recent cross-country held at Marshalls Sports' Field. Open to pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 the 1000m course was certainly very challenging but all runners acquitted themselves very well.

Cavendish ran out winners 180pts to 164pts. Special mention to Luke (Year 6), Oliver (Year 2) and Alfie (Year 4) who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

As part of our World Book Day celebrations we held a Potato Character competition. There were so many amazing entries so we couldn't upload them all, but here are just a few!

The children were extremely creative, artistic and all of the staff and parents were extremely impressed with every creation! Well done to all of the children who made a fantastic effort.

Many congratulations to George and Amshika who have been elected House Captains, for Meldrum and Cavendish respectively, for the academic year 2021/22.

Voted in by their House peers we wish them well in fulfilling their responsibilities. They are already busy canvassing ideas for future competitions within the school.

Congratulations also go to Isabella and Charlotte, our recently appointed librarians. We feel sure that they will keep the library neat and tidy, whilst at the same time logging the borrowing and returning of books, as pupils embark upon their bronze, silver and gold reading certificates.

Many congratulations to the children in years 3 and 4 who recently took part in the ‘First Mathematics Challenge’ organised by The Mathematical Association.

This was the first time Handel House had taken part in this annual competition and it was very encouraging to see children earning Participation, Bronze and Silver awards for their efforts. Now permanently in the HH calendar let’s go for Gold as well next time round.

In a money bag there are an equal number of 5p coins and 10p coins. There are no other coins. Altogether there is £1.80. How many coins are in the bag?

The riders in a cycling event start one at a time, every 10 seconds. Max Speed is the first rider to go, and Miles Behind is the 15th. How long after Max starts does Miles start?
