Welcome to the Handel House Preparatory School website which I hope will help to answer many of the questions you will undoubtedly have about the value and benefit of an independent education for your child. It is such a privilege, after some thirty-five years in the teaching profession, to be leading such a vibrant co-educational day school here in the market town of Gainsborough.

We are a team that is proud of the 170 year history of the school; we are a team that is passionate about providing the very best learning opportunities for all your children.

Our highly-qualified, experienced teaching staff is dedicated to ensuring that excellent academic standards are achieved, and that children are able to reach their full potential, in a caring, family, learning environment.

Our personalised learning approach has, in recent years, led to a 100% pass rate for those children looking to gain admission to the local grammar schools. For those children for whom a grammar school education is not the best ‘fit’, admission to a first choice secondary school, state or independent, has been achieved.

The Handel House team shares a passion for education, and strives to deliver the school’s traditional values in a modern context, whilst preparing your children for an exciting future. We encourage a responsibility to and for each other; and to be well-mannered, both in school and society.
